These fans are used to cool a variety of network equipment such as large routers and modems, as well as wine coolers and other enclosed spaces that are not noise-sensitive and are not suitable for indoor human activity areas.

It does need to be wired (just hot/common), so if your not comfortable with basic wiring then maybe not the fan for you. You can put it on the compressor housing of the chest freezer on a thermostat to keep your freezer from overheating in the summer.

This fan is a good choice for ventilating a relatively small space (shed, rabbit or chicken house). It has a sturdy housing with suitable mounting holes and grill covers for both sides.
