MAP Ocean Grey Color Guide:
MAP Ocean Gray is a grey color with a subtle blue tint.
MAP Ocean Grey was introduced in 1941 for use in the RAF Day Fighter Scheme along with Dark Green to camouflage the upper surfaces of the aircraft, while the lower surfaces were to be painted in Medium Sea Grey.
British-built aircraft such as the Spitfire or Hurricane, painted in the Day Fighter scheme and delivered by lend-lease to the USSR, usually retained their original Dark Green and Ocean Grey camouflage over Medium Sea Grey. British insignia on the upper surfaces were usually repainted AMT-4 or A-24m Green.
In the 1950s, Ocean Grey was succeeded by BS 638 Dark Sea Grey in RAF fighter camouflage, under AMO A.228/53.
