MAP Sky Grey Color Guide:
MAP Sky Grey was the color of the lower surfaces of the aircraft and was used exclusively by the FAA and RAF Coastal Command.
MAP Sky Grey was introduced in 1939 to paint the fuselage sides and under surfaces of aircraft following the Temperate Sea Scheme. This scheme also included Dark Slate Grey and Extra Dark Sea Grey to camouflage the upper surfaces of the aircraft.
In December 1940, under directive AMO A.926/40, Sky Grey was replaced by Sky in Temperate Sea camouflage.
