BS 1 Sky Blue Color Guide:
BS 1 Sky Blue was added to the official BS 381C standard in 1931.
BS 1 Sky Blue should not be confused with MAP Sky Blue, which was used to paint the under surfaces of aircraft overseas, as these colors were completely different.
BS 1 Sky blue, along with BS 16 Eau de Nil, was temporarily used to paint the undersides of RAF aircraft in 1940-1941 before Sky stocks became more readily available. Although these paints were significantly different in hue from the official MAP Sky color, they were interchangeable and widely used in RAF Temperate Land camouflage.
