BS 223 Mid. Bronze Green Color Guide: BS 223 Middle Bronze Green is the modern counterpart to the wartime BS 23 Mid Bronze Green, introduced in 1940 as the primary color of general-purpose aircraft bombs and missiles. Prior to this, RAF and FAA aircraft bombs were usually painted a mustard yellow color. Medium Bronze Green was used as a bomb color until 1964 when it was replaced by a darker hue BS 224 Deep Bronze Green for this purpose.
