Product Description

Scotch Varnished Cambric Tapes are made from straight-cut woven cotton cambric fabric. The fabric is oil primed and coated with a high-grade yellow electrical insulating varnish. Varnished cambric tapes are flexible, electrically insulating and moisture resistant with a smooth finish. Scotch Varnished Cambric Tape 2510 is yellow, non-adhesive coated and 7 mils thick. These tapes perform continuously in temperatures up to 105 °C (221 °F) with excellent resistance to abrasion, puncture and cut-through. The adhesive on Scotch Varnished Cambric Tape 2520 holds the tape in position after application. For insulating joints requiring rapid and clean re-entry such as motor lead and service drop connections, heavy split- bolts in raceways and bus bar insulating. Use in areas where mechanical protection and puncture resistance is critical. Note: Scotch Varnished Cambric Tapes 2510 and 2520 should not be used as primary insulation for splicing and terminating PILC Cable ASTM Approved and RoHS Compliant.

From the Manufacturer

Scotch® Electrical Insulating Varnished Cambric Tape 2510 insulates and seals electrical components. Resistant to punctures and cut-through, the straight cut woven cotton cambric fabric maintains its insulating properties through normal wear and tear. This varnished tape comes without adhesive, which allows for a clean re-entry to connections. Flexibility offers ease of installation and moisture resistance protects electrical connections. Cambric tape is often used for insulating joints requiring rapid and clean re-entry such as motor leads and service drops. Operating temperature range is 32°F (0°C) to 220°F (105°C).

This 7-mil thick, yellow varnished electrical tape is rated for Class A 220°F (105°C) applications. Typical tensile strength is rated for 50 lbs/inch.
