About Trailer Brake Controller Module

A brake controller is usually mounted to the tow vehicles drivers-side dashboard area, and engages a trailers electrical braking system either time delayed, or in proportion to the tow vehicles brake engagement when slowing down or coming to a halt.

If you tow trailers, whether occasionally or regularly, a trailer brake controller is a product you should definitely consider investing in. It’s easily one of the most important towing accessories out there, probably second only to the trailer hitch itself.

Few Steps to Install a New TBC Module

1. Remove the center LH Instrument Panel (IP) finish panel.
2. Remove the IP storage bin: 1) Disengage the two clips on the top of the storage bin that retain it into the IP.Disengage the two clips on the top of the storage bin that retain it into the IP; 2) Remove the storage bin from the IP and disconnect the trailer control harness electrical connector.
3. Connect the trailer control harness electrical and install the new TBC module.
4. Install the center LH IP finish panel.

Caution:

1. Always check trailer and vehicle functions (I.E., Stop, Turn Signal, Electric Brakes and Running Lights) before operating your vehicle and trailer.
2. Always unplug the adapter from the trailer tow harness before unhitching.
3. If your trailer functions DO NOT operate properly, DO NOT operate your vehicle until corrections are made.
