There are more than 250 species of owls. The Ural owl originates from the Ural Mountains in Russia. This bird of prey is nocturnal. The Ural owl is a large owl with a round head, no ear-tufts, and a relatively long tail with a wedge-shaped tip. The eyes are dark brown with the rims of the eyelids pink to reddish. The bill is yellow-horn.
