Description

Absorbent pad for trapping drips and spills of oil other hazardous fluids. Drip Trap the friendly oil absorbent is a mat or pad that uses a patented and economical method of capturing drips and spills of oil, coolant and other fluids. It is made entirely of cornstalks, which are a renewable, under utilized bio resource. Drip Trap wont spill. It wont track when walked on and it wont leak, even when set on an edge. Corn stalks makes an ideal absorbent medium for oil and related products for several reasons. First, the unique cellular structure of the corn plant allows oil and any oil based product to pass into the cell but not out. Thus, the oil is trapped within the cell wall. Secondly, unlike other popular absorbent mediums, the corn plant is a totally renewable resource and one that is in abundant supply across North America. Thirdly, when incinerated, corn stalks burn so hot that oil or other fluids are vaporized with virtually no harmful emissions. While the recommended disposal of oil and other hazardous waste is incinerated in an approved facility, even if a saturated Drip Trap ends up at a land fill (permissible in many locales), unlike other popular absorbents, the corn stalks decompose thus limiting the negative impact on the environment. Drip Trap can be used anywhere drips and spills present a safety or aesthetic problem. It is commonly used under parked cars, trucks, motorcycles, aircraft, construction equipment, around cutting and other metal machining equipment, under and around waste oil collection and transportation facilities, under and around auto repair and service facilities, plus in many other industrial and transportation facilities.
