This is a rare promotional pinback commemorating the 6000th performance of the Original Broadway production of the MARVIN HAMLISCH, EDWARD KLEBAN, JAMES KIRKWOOD, NICHOLAS DANTE and MICHAEL BENNETT musical "A CHORUS LINE" at the Shubert Theatre in New York City on December 31st, 1989. (The production opened April 15th, 1975 at the Off-Broadway Newman Theatre and quickly made plans to move to New Yorks Sam S. Shubert Theatre on July 25th, 1975 where it ran for 6,137 performances, becoming at the time, the longest-running musical in Broadway history. "A Chorus Line" received twelve Tony Award nominations, winning nine Tonys as well as the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.) ..... The New Years Eve performance was the hottest ticket in town. Producer JOSEPH PAPP gave away 500 tickets for the celebration, a pair of tickets to the first 250 people in line at the Shubert Theatre.
