Alder Cones Alder Cones have many benefits for the home aquarium or bowl. Alder cones are great for lowering the pH value in a natural way. They are Organic and Natural. They add beneficial Tannins and tannic acid to create blackwater environments and also support natural behavior and readiness to spawn. Our All Natural Alder Cones add beauty to your fish tank, while being beneficial. To increase the process in producing a tannin-rich or blackwater environment, you can combine with our cholla wood and / or catappa leaves. All 3 work well independently and in conjunction with each other. Alder cones provide a great benefit to shrimp, betta, frogs, and all sorts of blackwater habitat species.
