How did you come up with the idea for this product?
In 2014, I had an unexpected and difficult prolonged hospital stay. During my stay, I shared a hospital floor with young children and often thought, “If I am this scared as an adult, I wonder what these young kids must be feeling.” After I recovered, I could not stop thinking about the children and families I had met. I did extensive research to learn what techniques and products were being used to make children feel better and was determined to make a difference in those childrens the emotional well-being for those children.
What makes your product special?
We have worked with hundreds of families and medical professionals to understand what will bring comfort to children facing medical treatment. We leveraged the extensive medical expertise in the New England area to create products that are packed with education, art and play to help children turn challenges into adventures. We have worked with extremely talented and creative people to design the characters and the world of SuperHealos to ensure it is fun and exciting for children.
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
Receiving handwritten notes from young kids and families, telling us the difference SuperHealos made to their lives.
