Our Newbury American Bison is a true Bison hide, with all of the characteristics expected from Bison leather. We also wax and oil the leather to provide a nice pull up. The biggest difference between Bison and regular cow hides is the grain texture. Our American Bison is lightly tumbled, accentuating the already large pebble like grain structure. These are naturally tumbled skins (not plated/stamped with texture), and so the grain will be naturally variable in different areas of the side, some areas with large pebbling, and others with tight pebbling.
