What makes ours different? Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silk worm). Through Biomimicry, we and created a synthetic silk. It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet. Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation. Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.

Skin Cooler 90 Blocks 90% of UVB rays - When the human body gets hot, it sweats to cool itself. In the past, other brands have tried to help that process by developing fabrics that wick moisture away from the skin and expedite evaporation. For over 10 years now, De Soto has taken this concept a step further by using that moisture to create a cooling effect. YES! WE WANT YOU WET. Skin Cooler works by a series of channels knitted into light fabric. As these channels get wet, they absorb moisture and swell, which dissipates the heat making the fabric against your skin actually cooler. How much cooler depends on factors including airflow, humidity, ambient temperature, and moisture temperature. When you sweat, the garment’s temperature drops and creates an actual cooling sensation. Skin Cooler 90 offers this cooling effect while offering even more sun protection.

We always recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen’s SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and/or avobenzone.

Sizing Guidance

Sizing: Please refer to the size chart image above for an accurate fit.

Fit Note: Please do not assume your size is the same as previous years, please use our size chart. Triathlon apparel is meant to fit next-to-skin. This is to eliminate potential chafing, and unnecessary drag during the swim, bike and run. If you’re not comfortable with this type of fit and or are between sizes, we recommend sizing up. Garment will fit the most snug the first time you put it on, it will relax slightly once wet. It will never shrink or pill.

Fabric Note - Fabric is meshy and show-through, but still provides UVB protection. If you are not comfortable with the sheer "appearance" we suggest wearing a baselayer underneath.

CHEST - Fullest part of breast, measured as the largest part of circumference right over the pectoral muscle.

WAIST - Circumference measured at the belly-button line - this is NOT the same as your pants waist size.

HIPS - Circumference measured at the widest point, NOT at your hips where your belt may go. Typically this will measure just a few inches below your hip bones and around the largest part of the glutes.

If you do not have a tape measure and you need something to measure with, use a belt, or smart phone power cord, and a ruler.

No unflattering hem

Many tri and cycle jerseys add a silicone or elastic gripper. They do this because they think it helps keep the jersey down. This IS the case for men, but with WOMEN it will encourage the jersey to creep up since we have hips. We eliminate this problem but using a femme flattering fit. The jersey contours the body (slight flare at hip while still offering an aero fit) and is slightly longer in the back to keep the jersey down and provide full back uvb coverage.

Who is De Soto? About Us

Founded in 1990, De Soto Sport (De Soto Clothing Company, Inc.) has established itself as one of the most visible brands of apparel at any triathlon around the world. Founded by former pro triathlete, Emilio De Soto II, the San Diego-based company leverages experience dating back to 1980 in international triathlon and endurance sports competition into every product it creates.

De Soto makes technical garments for men and women designed with comfort and style, most of which can be used for swimming, biking, and running, eliminating the need to change.

The company has been managed by Emilio and his wife, Tracy, since 2009. Both left endurance sports competition to dedicate their time to raising their three boys who are on the swim team and have started competing in multisport events.
