Know About 5 string Banjos

Banjo-a wonderful musical journey

The supper part of the banjo is shaped like a guitar, and the lower part is shaped like a tambourine. It has four or five strings, and the guitar usually has six strings. Step 1

Measure the distance from the nut to the twelfth fret.

Step 2

Measure the same distance from the twelfth fret to the head of banjo .

Step 3

Make a small pencil mark. This gives you the correct scale length and marks the correct place to position the bridge.

Step 4

Put the bridge right on the position of the pencil mark.

How to use your tuner to tune?

After the bridge of the banjo is placed, you can tune:

Insert batteries correctly, put the tuner on the Banjo head and turn it on to B mode, and pluck the strings one by one from the DBGDG string. When the tuner pointer stays in the middle, the tuning is successful.

Open back/resonator banjo

Be a resonator banjo or an open back banjo depends on whether the back cover is open. The resonator banjo sounds mellower and softer while the open back banjo sounds bright
