Unlike temporary water-based type "fillers," Instant Install 29 offers lifelong, permanent repair durability that will never wear off or wash away, making it 100% safe for contact with food (e.g., kitchen countertops). Instant Install 29 is designed to be very easy to use for the DIY home owner or the professional. Easily tinted with our EZ-Tint (highly concentrated iron-ore pigments). EZ-Tint will never migrate out of the cured repair as do thinned-down liquid tints and mica.

Rebuilding Missing ChipsNote: Reattaching broken-off pieces rarely requires tinting unless some pieces are missing
|
Repairing Vertical or Horizontal CracksNote: Epoxy may need to be forced into finer cracks using a plastic putty knife
|
Countertop InstallationNote: No joint line taping needed, as dried resin does not stick to polished surfaces

Note: When reattaching a piece of stone or tile that has a clean break with no missing pieces, tinting is optional 1. Measure out and mix equal portions of hardener and resin |
2. Add in small amount of tint and stir in thoroughly. (Unlike diluted liquid tints, EZ Tint is a highly concentrated powder. It only takes a little.) |
3. Keep adding small amounts until desired color is achieved. (You can add white to lighten other colors to a lighter shade, or black for a darker shade. As can be seen in the chip repair video on the EZ Tint Amazon page, you can also add in small specks of powder after epoxy is applied to repair to create multiple colors and striations that are often found in stone.) |
EZ-Tint comes with a 2”x4” clear shaping strip. Using the strip is optional on flat surface repairs. On vertical surfaces, the strip helps to keep the epoxy in place. On profiled edges like countertops, the strip shapes the epoxy to that exact profile. Just tape it down with painter’s tape. In 20 minutes or so, lift an edge of the strip and ensure it is dry to touch. Once dried, the strip will not stick to the dried epoxy and peels away easily. Now, simply razor away the dried excess. Razoring the cured surface will matte the finish if desired. If a glossy surface is needed, take care not to scrape the surface with the razor. |
