Is there auto threading? | The Lumina Sienna Serger Sewing Machine does not have an “Auto threading/adjustment” feature. However the serger does come pre threaded so that you can tie to the thread ends and pull the thread through to assist with learning to thread correctly. The threading guides are color coded for easy threading. |
Can this serger handle denim? | The Lumina Sienna Serger Sewing Machine is capable of sewing with denim but is not designed for sewing multiple layers of thick or heavy weight fabrics. We do not recommend a serger if you plan to sew with multiple layers of jean weight denim. You will probably need a more heavy duty industrial sewing machine. |
Why my serger is not running? | This may occur during transport to your home, when the box of the machine is not properly treated, in which the motor belt slips slightly. To save the return times, you could solve the problem at home in a few minutes. Get in touch with us and we will provide you with techinal support videos asap. |
How do I thread my Serger? | To thread your Lumina Sienna Serger Sewing Machine, we recommend you to watch our tutorial videos. You can find them in this same product listing, in the images section. |
The Serger needs to be oiled? | The Lumina Sienna serger machine is pre-lubricated and do not require additional lubrication. However, an overlock machine requires more frequent maintenance than a conventional sewing machine for two reasons: (1) A lot of lint is produced when the cutters are cutting the fabric. (2) An overlock runs at a very high speed and needs to be oiled frequently to lubricate the internal working parts. We recommend lubricating after every 24 hours of use. Use sewing machine oil. |
How can I adjust the stitch? | We recommend you to watch our tutorial videos. Also there are several things you can try to adjust it: (1) Check the tension settings: The tension settings for each thread should be balanced. If one thread is too tight or too loose, it can affect the quality of the stitch. (2) Check the threading: Make sure that all the threads are properly threaded through the serger. (3) Check the needle: A dull or bent needle can cause the stitches to be uneven or skip. Replace the needle if needed. |
Is this serger a cover stitch? | No, the Lumina Sienna is an overlock machine and does not do a cover stitches. |
Its suitable for beginners? | Yes, the Lumina Sienna Overlock Machine can be use even if you have no prior experience with using a serger. However, you may need to spend some time learning the basics of serger operation and threading before you can use the product effectively. We recommend consulting the user manual and watching online tutorials to learn more about using a serger. |
What fabrics can I use? | You can use a variety of fabrics with a serger, including knits, woven fabrics, and even lightweight denim. Its important to adjust the tension, stitch settings and needle thickness to match the fabric youre using. |
