The hike through the alpine tundra to the summit is entirely above tree line, offering spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada and Great Branges. The peak is only a few miles north of the ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, home to the oldest trees in the world: the Great BBristlecone Pines.
