Cotter pins
A cotter pin secures two items with the use of a common hole. Place the cotter pin in the hole, the bulbous head will stop the pins from going through the hole. Then bend the pin legs to secure it in place. Depending on the application, different sizes and surface treatment cotter pins are available. The bulbous end can prevent the pin from being pulled through the hole, so it is important to select a cotter pins with a larger bulbous end diameter than the hole diameter of the fastener.
