Accusize DBHG Double Beam Height Gage, Hand Wheel Micro, Accuracy 0.001

The DBHG Height Gage positions precisely with gear driving and revolves tight and solid device, with an accuracy of 0.001. It is made of stainless steel and comes with a fine adjusting wheel and lock. It is used on a flat surface such as a granite surface plate. The precision ground base is hardened, ground and lapped for maximum flatness.

  • Handwheel: Adjust easily with the handwheel for micro-adjustment.
  • The double digital counter gives easy, error-free, quick upward and downward readings.
    • It comes with a zero-reset button, giving error-proof readings. The dual directional counter can be set to float zero point anywhere within the range individually.

How to use and read

Clean the precision ground base and scriber tip with a cloth and zero set properly. Never hold the beam to move the height gauge. Or else, the accuracy could be degraded.

Shifting the slider

  1. Loosen the slider clamp.
  2. Slowly turn the feed wheel.

  • For the coarse feeding of the slider, turn the feed wheel by the knob. (Fig. 2)
  • For fine feeding, turn the feed wheel by holding the rim. (Fig. 3)

How to zero set

  1. Mount the scriber to the scriber’s jaw and lock the clamp firmly.
  2. Loosen the slider clamp and lower the slider by turning the feed wheel slowly until the scriber, or the contact point of the dial test indicator comes just in contact with the reference surface.
  3. Zero set the dial indicator by turning the bezel if the pointer does not read ‘0’ correctly.
  4. Depress the reset button to zero reset the counter readings.

How to read

  1. To measure the height higher than the reference surface, shift the slider upwards and take the readings from the TOP counter and the large figure graduated clockwise on the dial.
  2. To measure the height lower than the reference reading, shift the slider downwards and take the readings from the BOTTOM counter and the small figure graduated counter-clockwise on the dial.

How to store

  • Lower the slider and leave space between the scriber and the surface plate. Put a dust-proof cover over the column.
    • If the height gauge is left without a dust-proof cover, external dust particles may stick on the rack of the column and degrade the accuracy.
    • For long-term storage, dismount the scriber, apply grease thoroughly on the precision ground base and the jaw. Besides, apply small quantities of anti-corrosive oil to the column.
  • Must be stored vertically anytime. Storing it horizontally is the maximum tolerance but still strongly discouraged. Storing at a degree larger than 90 degrees will harm the height gage.
