Suitable for delta selection monitoring valves from 1993 to 2007, not suitable for the new multi-selection

Thre is a little gear inside which is a temperature adjustment on the cartridge,when the water is not hot enough, you can pull and turn to adjust, left side is colder, right side is hotter.

Replacement Cartridge for Delta RP19804 1300/1400 Series

Installing Steps:
Step 1: Shut off the water supply to the tub/shower.
Step 2: Remove the knob center cap&knob, slide off the outside sleeve.
Step 3: Remove the brass bonnet .try by hand first, or gently use channel-lock pliers.
Step 4: Remove the old cartridge, feel for any deposits or debris inside pipe.clean as needed.
Step 5: Insert the new cartridge, thread and tighten the brass bonnet.
Step 6: If you remove the backing plate, clean the old caulk away and clean all parts.
Step 7: Slide the outer sleeve back on, replace the backing plate and install it in place.
Step 8: Replace the knob and install in place, and replace the center cap.
