Description

One of the first steps on the way to the political success of the young Abe Lincoln was the practice of law in Springfield. An example of how he solved difficult problems can be considered a court hearing in the murder of Scrub White. In this case, there seemed to be only one hitch: at the time of the murder, two people were next to White - brothers Matt and Adam Clay. It remained only to find out which of the brothers dealt the fatal blow with a knife. But the situation was complicated by the fact that each of the Clays took the blame, and there were no other witnesses to this crime. How to find the truth to punish exactly the one who committed the murder? Or maybe we should do what most of the townspeople demand - hang both of them, since they persist in their testimony? Prosecutor Felder argues this way, appealing to the jurys sense of fairness. However, the defendants lawyer Abe Lincoln has his own reasons to continue to defend the Clays. He feels that the matter is not as simple as it seems at first glance.

Perhaps it was in such trials that the tactics of the future great president of the country were developed - to turn his sworn enemies into allies. And with allies, of course, it is much easier to solve any problems, including identifying the true killers.
