Determine guide bar length by measuring from the front of the chainsaw to the tip of the guide bar.
Chain gauge is the thickness of each drive link. Find your gauge by measuring the section of the drive link inside the groove of the guide bar.
Pitch is measured by the distance between 3 consecutive rivets , divided by 2.
Count each drive link to know the total number of drive links on your saw chain.

How to sharpen your chain by yourself-1?
File from the inside edge of the cutter, toward the outside edge. Position yourself on one side of the saw bar and file the cutters on the opposite side of the chain. A round file sharpens in one direction only?on the stroke away from you.
How to sharpen your chain by yourself-2?
To sharpen the cutting corner: - Hold the file horizontally and follow the angle of the cutting corner as you lightly but firmly push the file. Then lift the file up to return to the starting position and push it again.
