It is important to check your hanger/ derailleur alignment before each ride. Gear Hangers should be fitted by a Qualified Cycle Mechanic and only after the original fault that caused the original gear hanger to fail has been rectified! The Gear Hanger is a sacrificial part which is designed to break when the frame and/ or drive train are under excessive stress, reducing/ eliminating any damage that may be caused to the frame and drive train components. All hangers are straight when they come from the factory - if the hanger does not appear to be straight after fitting, please be sure to check that your frame drop-out is clean and free from damage (or thick paint)!
