The purpose of this 7 foot Service Dog Hands Free Chrome Tag Leash from ActiveDogs is to train a dog work with you and adapt to your body movements. Made of 3/4" wide nylon, this high quality pet leash has an attached engraved chrome identification tag that reads Service Dog Do Not Pet." This is a well-made leash with sturdy all-metal hardware that helps identify a working service dog.

One of the benefits of this cross body leash is that it gives you free movement of both your hands, so you can work attached to the dog and at the same time move independently from the dog. It is much easier to push a shopping cart, open doors, or pick up objects when you have both hands free. When using this lead, you direct the dog with your legs and body movements, while the lead comfortably rests across your shoulder and wraps under your arm.

It is adjustable with different rings that are set into the leash so that the dog can be placed at different lengths away from the handler. This also gives the dog freedom to stop and lay down and rest when the lead is set on the closest snap ring. Matching collars are also available.

• Service Dog vs. Therapy Dog: A service dog is for a person who is legally disabled and the dog must be trained to perform a task. The handler has public access rights with service dogs and they are protected under Federal ADA Law. A therapy dog is trained to meet the needs of others, such as a dog visiting nursing homes, hospitals, schools, etc. while doing pet therapy work. The handlers do not have ADA public access rights with therapy dogs and must have permission from an establishment to enter.
