Deerskin leathers are typically of a soft temper and are frequently used in traditional crafts and projects.
Buckskin leather is lightweight and durable with a thickness ranging from 2-4oz on average. Due to the leather be thin and lightweight it has some amount of stretch as well.
Colors are neutral and will typically be a variety of black, browns, and off-white. Occasionally there will be some blue pieces mixed in, but these are rare.
Remnant sizes range from 1/2-2 hand sizes on average but you can expect to see strips and pieces that are larger or smaller than the average.
Textures vary between a flat grain or a grainy surface. Flat grain is when you see visible bumps in the leather but when you run your hand over piece it feels smooth. Grainy is when there are visible bumps and when you run your hand over it you feel the bumps. These deer are not farm raised so expect to see holes, grain damage, scars, and other blemishes throughout the scrap.
