Description

This SKF F2B-RM series flange unit has a cast iron housing with two bolt holes, contact seals, and a set screw lock for applications where the direction of rotation is constant. This bearing unit is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. The cast iron housing is rigid and dampens vibration and its two bolt holes provide mounting stability. The steel single-row, deep groove ball bearing insert is self-aligning and accommodates misalignments between the shaft and the housing. The bearing locks onto the shaft with two setscrews spaced 120 degrees apart for a three-point contact hold. This lock type minimizes ring distortion and vibration and is suitable for low to moderate speed applications where the shaft rotates in a single or reversing direction. Contact seals on both sides of the bearing protect against contaminants and retain lubricant applied at manufacture and the bearing housing has a grease fitting for reapplying lubricant. Flanged bearing units are suitable for use in industrial and commercial applications including conveyors, fans and blowers, construction machinery, and processing equipment.
