Best practices for using GrooVex

Step 1: Assemble your toolsGrooVex is a high-precision metalworking tool designed to resharpen iron and wedge grooves to the maximum conforming geometry allowed under the rules of golf. Tape and lubricant are not mandatory but are recommended for the best results. |
Step 2: Sharpen your groovesApply tape to the heel and toe of the club to eliminate scratching the club face. Spray a small amount of lubricant like WD40 on the face to help the tool "glide" through the groove. Seat the sharpening end of the tool in the end of the groove nearest the hosel. Holding GrooVex like a pencil, apply moderate pressure and drag the tool along the groove toward the toe of the club. You will see small metal shavings from the old worn groove start to appear. |
Step 3: Admire your resultsAfter only 2-3 drags or passes through each groove, you will see the GrooVex difference. Sharp, clean, precise grooves that conform to the rules of golf. |
Fine-point for precision groove cleaningOpposite the sharpening end of your GrooVex you will find a fine-point groove cleaning tool. Use this for pre/post-round groove maintenance to remove debris or encrusted material like dirt or sand that cant be cleaned by a brush or golf tee. The fine-point is NOT designed to remove metal and could break if used for anything other than routine groove cleaning. |
