When investing in a pair of knee sleeves you need to look for 3 things.
They need to compress the knee, warm the joint, and reduce any pain or symptoms present.
Many other brands can provide the above, however, there are tradeoffs.
Some of them will compress the knee joint really well but aren’t very flexible, while others are more flexible but provide little to no support.
The two most common models on the market are 5mm and 7mm thick sleeves.
A 7mm thick sleeve is too thick for functional activity. For example, imagine performing some high rep squats and then trying to bang out some burpees. Your knee flexibility is limited along with your performance.
On the other hand, the 5mm sleeve is great for general compression and improving blood flow but lacks the ability to really stabilize the knee for heavier lifts and training.
With such limited options, youd have to make compromises.
At Element 26 we decided to solve this problem.
We asked the question: what type of sleeve does a functional athlete need in order to perform better in competition and training, and how do we get that in one uniform knee sleeve?
It seemed so obvious but the answer was VERSATILITY.
Instead of making another 5mm or 7mm knee sleeve we developed a 6mm knee sleeve that combines the two and gets the best of both worlds, STABILITY and MOBILITY.
With the 6mm knee sleeve, you have the compression and feel of a 7mm knee sleeve, but like a 5mm, it’s not so stiff that it will impede your other movements.
