Description

This is a New Shinwa Japanese 8" sliding bevel gauges. The blade is 8" (200 mm) long x 1" (25 mm) wide and made from stainless steel with milled (not stamped) sides. The base is 5" (120 mm) long x 7/8" (21 mm) wide and 5/8" (15 mm) thick and made from anodized aluminum. The locking screw is on the end of the base so that the tool can be flipped for use on either side. Fine Woodworking in its May/June review concluded that among the lower priced models (remember that some cost upwards of $100.00) the Shinwa "stood out, felt good in the hand and had the best locking mechanism".
