Ludwigia ovalis is a relatively new species in the aquatic plant hobby. A medium to high level of light is sufficient for good growth, and the limitation of nitrate and/or phosphorus fertilization in the water column will bring out a more intense coloration. CO2 injection is not really a must, but helps L. ovalis grow faster and more robust. A micronutrient supply is required, and iron is important for intensive plant colours.
