●SOUNDPROOFING BASICS - There are three keys to soundproofing. To block airborne noise, barriers need to be DENSE, LIMP, and AIRTIGHT. MLV is both dense and limp but should be installed with no gaps for best performance. Plan for 100% COVERAGE!
●HOW TO USE 2 LB MLV ? Luxury Liner 2 lb. sheets are pre-cut to smaller sizes for small-scale projects where significant noise reduction is needed. Common uses include soundproof boxes, generator enclosures, pool pumps, automotive, and anywhere with small gaps to be filled. Upgrade to 2 lb. MLV for loud or low frequency noise.
●BLOCK AIRBORNE NOISE - Luxury Liner mass loaded vinyl is 24" x 54" (9 square feet) and weighs 2 lbs per square foot. Each MLV sheet weighs about 18 lbs. For structural vibrations, use Damplifier Pro sound deadening mats instead.
●AS DENSE AS A WALL ? 2 lb. Luxury Liner MLV sheets are odorless and fire-tested (FMVSS 302) with a heat rating of 150° F. When installed properly using nails, screws & washers, or grommets, 2 lb. Luxury Liner blocks airborne sound waves about as well as a wall in your house. (STC = 32)

Description

Luxury Liner 2 lb is a flexible, barium infused mass loaded vinyl thats MADE IN THE USA. Uses include blocking the transmission of airborne sound waves coming from road, engine, and exhaust drone. Combine with a closed cell foam like OverKill Pro or jute material like Heat Wave Pro to block stubborn airborne noise. Recommended adhesives include super strong double sided tape, Dual Lock reclosable fasteners, and vinyl contact cement. The MLV can also be stapled, screwed, or nailed in place.
