Measuring Your Track Height

Measuring Your Track Correctly is the most important step when getting a Window Pet Door. Endura Flap Sash Window Pet Doors have adjustment ranges to give you some leeway when measuring, but it is still crucial you measure correctly.

When measuring, you want to make sure you measure from the furthest point in the left of the track to the furthest point in the right of the track. You also need to measure the width of the track, which should be at least 1" thick. These removable Sash Window Pet doors work with most sash windows. Horizontal sliding windows are available and sold separately.

Measuring Your Pet

Measuring your pets height correctly is crucial in ensuring you purchase a flap that your pet can comfortably use for their entire life.

You need to keep in mind how high off the ground the pet door will be installed, this space between the ground and the bottom of the flap is called the Step Over. The Step Over should be as low as possible for your dog to go through comfortably, this will make it easier for your pet as they get older.

The Distance from the Floor to the Top of the Flap should be at least 1" higher than the tallest point of your pets back.

Step Over + Flap Height = At least 1" higher than the tallest point of pets back.

We recommend replicating the dimensions of your planned pet door installation on cardboard and seeing if your pet can comfortably go through it.
