The following common doubts may be helpful to you

  • Q: Does fire glass burn on its own?
  • No, it can withstand the burning of flames but will not ignite spontaneously. Its reflective surface can reflect flames and make them sparkle.
  • Q: Why the fire glass I bought is not as shiny as the picture?
  • A: Dust will be generated during transportation. Only need to wash with water to restore its shine.
  • Q: Will the glass change color after use?
  • A: Incomplete combustion of propane will produce small carbon black particles, which adhere to the fire glass. Please clean it in time. If you can’t solve it, please let us know.
  • Q: Is it safe to burn? Will it explode?
  • A: Please dont worry, it wont jump out of the fire. If you have a baby or pet, recommended that you purchase a glass screen to protect the baby or pet from touching the flames.

HOW MANY BOXES TO FIREPLACE ?

(Front Width (A) + Back Width (B) )/2 x Fireplace Depth (C) x Glass Depth (D)/19 = Glass (lbs.)

  • We recommend 2" - 4" of glass depth for most fireplaces. For rectangular and square fireplaces, use the same front width as the back width.

HOW TO SAVE ON THE COST OF YOUR FIRE GLASS

  • Lava Rock is inexpensive when compared to fire glass. You could use a one-inch deep lava rock layer to initially cover your burner pan. This will reduce the glass depth needed by one inch. This can be applied to any fire pit or fireplace, no matter what size, and make a considerable saving over the cost of using fire glass throughout.
  • Using lava rock as a base material does have a single drawback. It will cause some soot to build up on your fire glass. So periodically you may need to remove your fire glass and rinse off the soot. Be sure to allow the glass to completely dry before placing it back over the lava rock.
