Description

A counted cross stitch pattern of the Virgin Mary seated on a stone bench holding a sleeping baby Jesus. Three angels are close by, one playing violin, one the lute and one a regal (a portable organ). The background is a dim woodland. This work is also known as "La Vierge aux Anges" and a portion showing just the angels has been titled "Angels Playing Violin". (1881) This pattern is solidly stitched. Any color fabric may be used.
