This sash is of the L’Assomption style sash made in L’Assomption, Quebec whose earliest known origins come from the 18th century (the 1700s). It is the oldest known sash design. L’Assomption sashes were the most common sashes in western Canada until around 1850 when the Coventry sash became prominent.
