1. Installed on my 09 ninja 650r, didnt come with instructions so it did take some time to figure out but i managed. Quite solid product overall though i do wish the RH side had a clamp to go over the frame to make it more secure or extend the threads just a hair farther on the bolt so the smooth section didnt bottom out.
2. You do need to get off the fairings to install these, bolt the sliders onto the brackets with the hex bolts, I put the shorter slider with the thinner bracket and the longer slider with the thicker, they seem even on both sides like that... mount the shorter bracket on the clutch side of the bike, straight up and down, using two bolts, one long and one short and the longer spacer at the bottom and the slider protrudes through the fairings without the need to alter the fairings... mount the longer bracket on the throttle side, almost straight up and down, using one of the long bolts and the shorter spacer, just below the vertical frame bar and also protrudes through the fairings without the need to alter (use a second set of eyes to help you line this one up with the other side before you tighten it down). Once installed, they look great and are strong and worth it to protect the fairings.
3. You have to remove the fairings to install them properly on a 2008 ninja 650r.
