Plantation willow cultivation is part of the rich heritage of the Somerset Levels stretching back for hundreds of years. A special combination of unique environmental conditions and tried and trusted traditions enable the Coate family to produce a truly unique fine art charcoal. Since Coateas produces and processes their own raw materials they are able to select only the best willow rods ensuring consistently high quality charcoal. Coateas Willow Charcoal is non-compressed and burned from rods left in their raw round shape and diameter.
