VIOLIN SIZE CHART

Find your violin size by measuring from base of neck to mid-palm.Find your violin size by measuring from base of neck to mid-palm.

Use the sizing chart to choose the correct size from the arm measurement.

Follow these instructions for the most accurate size: First, with arm outstretched to the side, measure the players arm from the base of neck to mid-palm. Check the size chart below for the right size of violin according to arm length measurement. Always choose the smaller size if the student is in-between sizes. A larger instrument will hinder the student’s ability to play properly. The deciding factor is if the student is able to, or very close to, playing the 4th finger. If they can reach this fingering the violin will be usable.

  1. Extend arm fully to the side and perpendicular to the body.
  2. Measure from the base of the neck to the middle of the palm.
  3. If you are between sizes, size down.

Please use the sizing chart below to assist you.
