By constructing a symmetrical grid pattern Polartec was able to not only increase thermal warmth and mechanical wicking capabilities but reduce the overall fabric mass and weight without affecting the performance capabilities of the design.

Description
281Z TERRAIN thermal base layer
is designed for intensive activities connected with profound sweating. It is made of one of the most complicated Polartec baselayer fabrics - Polartec Power Grid. The geometric constructions of the fabric generate targeted touchpoints for the patented bi-component design to manage excess moisture. The next-to-skin surface is hydrophilic and absorbs sweat vapor to transfer it outside the garment. Then the outer surface disperses moisture for more efficient evaporation. The grid design also creates open air channels that improve breathability, and reduce fabric mass. All this performance is wrapped into a comfortable design. We used all our experience in making performance military clothing to create a versatile and comfortable garment which would look casual and will be good and comfortable for everyday use, but will retain the performance characteristics and durability of military ones.
The comfortable minimalistic design will not hinder your movements and the fit will prevent any chafing under top layers of clothing or straps of sport, climbing, and tactical gear. No worries for the backpack users too. And flat seams add to comfort with the ability to eliminate all rubbing and irritations.
Also, 281Z thermal base layer garments are odor resistant, making you feel fresher during long term use.
