The Cable Matters USB-C Gen 2 External 2.5" SSD Enclosure provides a convenient way to connect a 2.5" SSD or HDD drive to a computer. Add back-up storage to a computer with USB-A, USB-C or Thunderbolt 3. Simple installation with no tools required.

Full-Featured SATA Drive Enclosure

  • Supports UASP for increased read/write speeds and improved CPU utilization
  • Supports TRIM to manage available storage space and increase SATA drive life
  • Supports S.M.A.R.T technology to perform predictive failure analysis

Important Notes

  • M1 & M2 Mac computers only support 5Gbps data transfer. Intel Macs are not affected by this limitation
  • 3.5" HDD drives are NOT compatible
  • Data transfer rate is limited by the SATA SSD and USB port rating
  • Some internal SSDs such as the Intel S3500 require 2A current, which exceeds USB power. These SSDs are not supported through USB and must be connected directly to a PSU.

  1. Lightly press on the PULL tab and slide open the bottom cover
  2. Insert an SDD/HDD drive at a 45-degree angle
  3. Slide the cover back onto the enclosure
