●【Non-destructive Installation】: To find the gear display plug as Smoku technology to the product and then connected to a power line and speed signal line is inserted in the tank below! When the monitor is in place,check that the cable is not subject to steering damage!
●【Module Settings】: You need to setup the module after installation. When ignition is turned on, the display counts backwards (6 to 1) indicating that the memory is clear. Raise the rear wheel off the ground by using a stand, and start the engine in Neutral. The screen displays L, indicating that learning is started.
●【Gear Display】: Accelerate through the handle throttle slowly. The display will blink “1”. Select first gear, release the clutch, and keep the RPM above idle speed. The display is blinking faster while the unit is learning the gear. When the display shows “2”, select second gear. Repeat this process until all gears are thought (5 or 6). The gear can be indicated correctly. Now, when ignition is turned on, the display counts forward (1 to 6) indicating that it is fully functional.

What is a gear indicator?

Gear shift indicator light is an indicator that tells you what gear you’re in at any given time. It works by connecting directly to your motorcycle’s wiring and by using the signals through the electrics it works out which gear is currently selected.

Set up:

  1. You need to setup the module after installation. When ignition is turned on, the display counts backwards (6 to 1) indicating that the memory is clear.
  2. Raise the rear wheel off the ground by using a stand, and start the engine in Neutral. (If you do not have a stand, you may setup the unit while riding. Find a long, straight road with light traffic.) The screen displays L, indicating that learning is started.
  3. Accelerate through the handle throttle slowly
  4. The display will blink “1”. Select first gear, release the clutch, and keep the RPM above idle speed. The display is blinking faster while the unit is learning the gear.
  5. When the display shows “2”, select second gear. Repeat this process until all gears are thought (5 or 6).
  6. The unit is programmed and should indicate the gears correctly.
  7. Now, when ignition is turned on, the display counts forward (1 to 6) indicating that it is fully functional. (If there is an error in the learning process, please reset gear indicator, thank you)
  8. Rest: If some gears are not indicated correctly, reset the unit and set it up again. If you change your gearing (install new front or rear sprocket),or you install a speedometer (or other speedometer calibrator), probably you will have to reset it and set it up again. Cut off the power of the unit 6 times in a row, while the display is counting up and shows 3 ,4 or 5. You can power on/off the display by turning the ignition key on/off. On the next power up, the display will count backwards(6 to 1). The memory is clear now and you can perform the Setup procedure.
