Description

Muga Silk SLIVER is AAA-Grade 100% natural eco-friendly organic pure wild silk and one of the most exclusive silks from India. This silk has natural lovely golden sheen on it. Staple length is approx 13cm (5in). Muga Silk is one of the rarest wild silks in the world, indigenous to the region of Assam in India. It’s produced from wild Silk Cocoons under strict Government of India regulations; there are no chemical used while growing or processing cocoons.
With Muga Silk you can:
?Add it to your felting projects for extra sheen and strength; can be used as felt laminate - laminated felt is the term used to describe the process of encasing a layer of woven fabric between two layers of fiber. This enables a felter to use fewer layers of wool while producing a strong but fine felt fabric.
?Use silk roving for spinning with wool, alpaca and other fibers in different proportion; it’s easier to handle and spin than mulberry silk because of higher micron;
?Blending/carding with other fibres; you can mix it with merino wool, alpaca etc;
?Use it to add gold sparkles for embroidery threats, for fine doll hair, crochet, paper making, scrapbooking, painting, textile projects, other art objects.
