Black powder-coated O-rings are dependable and strong, but have a unique color that make them different from nickel plated. Welded for increased strength and endurance, these heavy O-rings can withstand greater tension than their non-welded counterparts. Heavyweight O-rings differ from lightweight O-rings significantly in wire thickness. Tougher projects, such as cargo restraints and tie downs, are where heavy welded O-rings really shine. The uniform dark look is achieved at the factory when the metal surface is coated with pigments that are combined with colored resin. Subsequent high heat permanently fuses the particles into a smooth, durable finish as the coating bonds to the metal surface. In case youre wondering, the coating is resistant to the scrapes, scratches, and dings that can come with normal use. All of our D-rings, buckles, triglide slides, and other hardware are sized by the webbing or straps they are meant to be used with. These are made for use with 1 1/4 Inch webbing and/or straps.
