To use, grasp the sides of a JumpLock at the 3 and 9 oclock positions with 2 smooth or nylon jaw-chain nose pliers. Make sure the opening of the jump ring is at the top. Hold one side of the ring steady and twist the other side of the ring a quarter-turn away. Then, insert a chain, charm, or finding into the JumpLock. Twist the same side of the jump ring back towards you. Twist a quarter-turn past the closed position. Then, slowly twist the ring back to the closed position. As you twist, gently push the ends of the jump ring together so they touch each other. When the ring reaches the closed position, you should hear a click. After you hear that click, gently wiggle the sides of the jump ring back and forth to align the ends, and finish hardening the metal into the closed position. When used correctly, these jump rings will remain locked and keep your jewelry pieces intact.
