disconnect power from pool pumps.
unscrew entire valve and pressure gauge together from the top of the DE filter by turning valve counter-clockwise.
once removed, twist part A and part B counter clockwise until rotation stops.
this step is a little tricky and you may need an extra helping hand
pull tabs slightly while simultaneously rotating part B in direction of red arrow until rotation stops
Note: Do not use excessive force, tabs only need to move a fraction of an inchi and part B only needs to turn a tiny bit (maybe only 5 degrees of rotation)
separate part a and part B with a firm pull apart.
Wash Part A and Part B to remove any debris.
Use a plastic tool or wooden toothpick to remove the small and medium o-rings
Note: Do not use a metal tool as it may damage the surface.
peplace the small and medium o-rings with the new o-rings. Apply silicone o-ring lubricant to both rings.
put part A and part B together carefully aligning the ears on part A into the slots on part B
make sure parts A and B snap firmly together, this will take a little force (about 5 pounds) and you should hear a little pop .
if properly popped back together , you should be able to easily rotate parts together in a clockwise motion
Replace the large o-ring on the threaded end (bottom) of Part B. Use o-ring lubricant to help it seal properly. Screw the air-relief valve back into the top of the DE filter. Do not over tighten.
turn on pumps to test the air relief valve. turn Part A counter-clockwise to open valve. When water appears at the washout port, rotate Part A clockwise to close the valve and stop the water .
