Specific Installation Steps

  1. Remove the maniford: Use a 8mm wrench to remove the 2 hex socket head screws. Seperate the maniford and crankcase: Use 2 flat tip screwdrivers to pry maniford away from the crankcase. Use a rubber hammer to completely remove maniford from crankcase place.
  2. Remove the low-pressure seals, seal case o-ring and high-pressure seals: Put the maniford on flat surface with low pressure seals facing up. Place a flat tip screwdriver under the low pressure seal and pry upward to remove. Be careful not scratch the inner diameter surface of the steel case where the low pressure seals are located. Inspect the inside of the low pressure seal for wear or damage. Using a half inch seam case tool or tee wrench remove the seal case. Inspect the seal case o-rings for cut nicks or damaged. Use a flat tip screwdriver under the high pressure seals and pry upward to remove.
  3. Install the low-pressure seals, seal case o-ring and high-pressure seals: Before installing , apply a liquid gasket to outside surface of the high pressure seals. With the flat side facing up, put the high pressure seals into place. Replace a new o-ring on the seal case, apply liquid gasket to the o-ring on the seal case. Install the seal case with the o-ring down into the mainford and thread into maniford. Using your seal case tool or tee wrench to tighten. With the spring side facing down, put the low pressure seals into place.
  4. Replace the wicks and small o-rings: Remove the nylon oil pan. Remove the two-piece seal retainer with wick. Put apart the retainer by hand, replace the wicks. Ensure the hole in the retainer is facing down when reinstalling. Use a 12 mm wrench lossen and remove the plunger retainer, replace the small o-ring on it. Apply thread sealant on the end of the plunger rod. Install plunger assembly and tighten using a 10 mm wrench torque to specification. With the hole and long tail of the wick facing down, install the plunger retainer. Put the oil pan back in place.
  5. Adjust to specification: Before reinstalling the maniford, rotate the crankshaft so that the outside two plungers are even up for this distance from the crankcase. Install the maniford by hand, ensure even alignment. Use a rubber hammer to ensure maniford is flush to crankcase surface. Reinstall the two hex socket head screws. Use a 8mm wrench to tighten and torque to specification.
