8" Diameter - 1" Wide, 5/8" Arbor - 180 Grit Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) is one of the hardest materials in the world. It is just slightly below Diamond on the hardness scale. CBN grinding wheels have been used in manufacturing processes for many years and are now available for common bench grinders. CBN crystals are electroplated on to a precision steel grinding wheel substrate resulting in the finest grinding wheels available today. CBN wheels outperform common stone wheels in many ways. Features: Made from a steel core and will run smoother on all grinders Designed for sharpening woodturning tools (High Speed Steel only) and not designed for Tungsten Carbide or Carbon steel
- Designed for use with bench type grinders; 1800 RPM (Preferred) or 3600 RPM

8" Wheels - Self-Aligning Spherical washer sets: (Does not apply to 6" Wheels) Some 8" grinders will create a little side to side movement in the wheel due to seating problems against the shaft shoulder near the motor housing, or unequal pressure from the shaft nut. This movement will interfere with the accuracy of sharpening when using the radius edge of the wheels. If this occurs we recommend you use a CBN Wheel Self-Aligning Spherical washer (or good quality flat washer) on each side of your 8" CBN Wheels. Spherical washer sets can be purchased from most grinding machine retailers. This is true of all 8" CBN, not just Woodcut Tools.
