Step 3: Adjust the focus knob of the telescope to ensure that you can see clear image on your phone, then zoom the camera to be full screen.

NOTE: The image you see from the phone at the beginning is just a small circle size, please zoom the camera to see the full screen image.

ABOUT MAGNIFICATION OF TELESCOPE

  • The focal length of the eyepiece, combined with the focal length of the telescope, determine the magnification power.
  • To calculate the power of your telescope with any particular eyepiece, simply divide the focal length of the telescope (400mm) by the focal length of the eyepiece (indicated in “mm” on the eyepiece collar). For example, when you use the eyepiece H20mm with this telescope, the magnification will be 20X.

ERECTING EYEPIECE/BARLOW LENS/MOON MIRROR

  • Normally, a telescope offers a upside down image, the 1.5X Erecting eyepiece not only increases the magnification of telescope 1.5 times but also correct the direction of the image.
  • The 3X Barlow lens can triple the magnification factor provided by the telescope.
  • Because there is great deal of reflected glare when the full moon is observed, the addition of the moon mirror will remove this glare and make it possible to sharpen surface details. The moon mirror is screwed into the eyepiece when you use it.
  • NOTE: The image people see from many telescope is upside down, this is normal because the telescope is mainly used to view the moon and stars, you can see the right image if you use the 1.5X Erecting eyepiece then you can view the landscape better.
  • WARNING: NEVER aim your Telescope at the sun or close to the sun!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) How far can I see?

Besides the moon, with the aid of a telescope, you will be able to enjoy exciting views of Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s major moons, the Orion Nebula, and much more in good weather conditions.

2) Why can’t I see anything?

If you see only gray or black when looking through your telescope, it is very likely that you are using an eyepiece that is too powerful. To solve this problem: Always start with the lowest power eyepiece first, and only insert the higher power eyepiece after you have located an object.

3) When I use my high power eyepiece, everything looks much darker. Why?

As magnification in a telescope increases, brightness diminishes. Conversely, brightness increases when magnification is reduced. If an image appears too dark or unclear, use a lower-powered eyepiece. Views of small, bright objects are superior to those of large, dark or blurry ones! Atmospheric conditions, air currents, as well as light and air pollution also affect viewing quality.
