With the PDC 18/4 Festool set out to create the ultimate drilling machine. Driven by an extremely powerful EC-TEC brushless motor, and a robust 4 speed metal gear box, you can drop it down into low for hogging out material with large diameter drill bits, then switch to high speed hammer mode to blast through concrete, or just go mid-range for common drilling applications. Supported by its own FastFix interchangeable chucks, the PDC 18/4 is designed for quick and tool-less conversion to drilling, screw driving, angular drilling, and angular screw driving, making it easy to see how this might be the only drill you could need. Powerful screw driving with a torque of 42 ft-lb in first gear and precise drilling with 3,800 rpm in fourth gear is no longer a problem. Whether working with wood or metal, or even in brickwork with the axial impact function activated, the PDC 18 is extremely tough and its maintenance-free brushless EC-TEC motor ensures excellent durability.
